How to run/walk your first Happiest 5k

Relax, find your spot, smile and enjoy!

Your first fun run is always a bit of an experiment when it comes to finding what works for you. There is nothing to stress about, there will be a lot of other first time runners too, so try to relax. The best way to enjoy the experience is to not put too much pressure on yourself and if you have been training, run the race the way you have trained – now is not time to try out any new techniques.

Ideally, place yourself in the crowd where you can not only run freely, but where you are also able to walk when you have to. If you do need to slow down during the 5ks, be aware of other runners behind you and carefully move to the left.

Running with friends is also a great way to try your first 5k fun run, as they will be there to support and encourage you every step. Plus, the laughs along the way are always nice.
